MEMBERSHIP
Orana Veterans CC is affiliated to the Australian Veterans Cycling Council. Membership is open to all cyclists aged from 35 years (30 for ladies) and over. We offer both Social and Full (racing) membership to cyclists of all abilities. Orana Vets members are able to race with all AVCC affiliated clubs throughout Australia. At present Social Membership is $5, while a Racing Licence costs $80.
We are always glad to welcome new members, be you new to the sport or an old hand from another club! If you are turning 35 (30 for ladies) in 2009, you can apply for a 2009 license from October 1st, 2008. If you are interested in racing but not quite sure what it's all about, then you can compete in two races before making a final decision to join the club.
If you turn 75 years old next year, you must gain a medical clearance prior to being issued a racing license. A copy of the form may be obtained from the secretary. Licenses cannot be issued until this clearance has been submitted.
Membership contains many benefits, the greatest of which is the ride insurance provided by the AVCC insurers. Every time you go for a ride, you are covered by this comprehensive ride insurance. For further details, visit the AVCC website, or click this link.
All members are reminded that 2009 renewals are now due. If you have not renewed your license for 2009 you are NOT permitted to compete in any Orana Vets or AVCC sanctioned race after Jan 1st 2009. No exceptions to this rule can be permitted. Membership payments are to be made to the Treasurer. Cheques are to be made out to Orana Veterans Cycle Club.
