Welcome to the OVCC!

The Orana Veterans Cycling Club (OVCC) was formed to cater specifically
for veteran cyclists in the Central Western area of New South Wales, but now is
the home for many veteran cyclists throughout NSW. Veteran (or Masters) category for cycling
is 35 and over for men and 30 and over for women. We are affiliated to the
Australian Veteran Cycling
Council. Handicap road races are
conducted throughout the year at a number of different venues in and around
Dubbo, while social training rides occur on a weekly basis. In addition to this,
touring rides are held throughout the year.
The club aims to promote all aspects of
cycling, both competitive and social in the Central West of NSW as well as
foster the development of Vets cycling in NSW. Cyclists of all abilities are welcome at
any club activity. Further information concerning the club can be found on the
MEMBERSHIP
page of this site. Regular meetings are held at the Dubbo RSL Club on the second
Monday of every second month, starting at 7:30 p.m. Next meeting is on
Monday 14th May 2012.

Orana
vets recently became a member of the Good Sports program at a special
presentation at the Dubbo Golf Club.

The
Good Sports program is an initiative of the Australian Drug Foundation
(ADF) to develop safer and healthier communities. The program helps
sporting clubs manage alcohol responsibly and reduce alcohol related
problems such as binge and underage drinking.
Good Sports is recognised in the community health sector for its extensive
research. The
program is evidence-based and evaluation continues on an on-going basis.
Displaying
the Good Sports logo sends an important message to club members and the
community. It confirms that the club promotes a responsible attitude
towards alcohol and that it provides a safe environment for players,
members, families and supporters.
For
further information about this program go to www.goodsports.com.au
